Mobile phones, tablets, and laptops are now our constant companions, and of course, at some point, the battery runs out. As a result, they're charged almost daily. Charging cables are often left plugged in permanently, and the dangers this poses in a household with children are generally underestimated. New parents often remember to protect the sockets with child safety locks, but something else is frequently overlooked: charging cables can be incredibly attractive to children. Before you know it, the little ones have unplugged the charging cable from the device and put it in their mouths.

It is often unclear whether the power supply we use actually meets the required quality standards and is truly a tested product. This can mean that the charger's safety features are not guaranteed – which can then be dangerous.
Furthermore, even with power supplies of the highest quality standards, defects in the charger and, for example, smartphone or tablet due to the effects of saliva getting into the cable are unavoidable.

Application: The cable with integrated safety device is connected to the device (e.g., smartphone) for charging as usual. If a child unplugs the cable from the device (or finds the plugged-in cable in the house) and tries to put it in their mouth, the integrated mechanism closes, preventing the child from coming into contact with the plug or charging contacts.

Assembly & Application

Step 1: Press the push button firmly downwards, while simultaneously pushing forwards until the safety flap opens and the plug is pushed out.

Step 2: Keep the push button pressed and plug the cable into the desired terminal device.

Step 3: Ensure the charging plug clicks into the charging socket and the charging process starts as usual. Check that it is securely connected!

The safety instructions in the product description must be observed:

• CAUTION: This is a mechanical shield which does not guarantee protection against moisture.
• Please only use tested and CE-certified devices (power supply not included!)
• Even with a protective device, charging cables should never be used in environments with a risk of moisture, e.g., in bathtubs. Using charging cables in bathtubs and similar environments poses a risk of electrocution!
• The usual usage guidelines for charging cables must still be observed, also with regard to cable and line safety.
• The protective device is not a safeguard against defective charging cables. Defective charging cables must be disposed of immediately. Using defective charging cables is extremely dangerous!
• The back panel, which must be inserted to close the system, must be fully inserted (securely fitted), otherwise improper use and a potential hazard from swallowing small parts may occur. For the same reason, improper assembly is not permitted. Defective products must be disposed of.
• Unassembled components or products must be kept out of the reach of children under 3 years of age. Choking hazard!
• This product is not a toy!
• The mechanical shielding is not designed to withstand impermissible mechanical stress (e.g., strong impacts or forceful action) when used properly.
• Safe operation cannot be guaranteed if changes or modifications are made to the system.
• Ensure that the attached parts are securely in place.
• The instructions in the user manual must be followed.
