After comparing and testing a wide variety of samples, we've decided what will be added to our product range next! We're excited to be able to regularly expand our offerings.
What we tested for you: various child safety products – different options for corner protectors, door and window locks, cabinet locks, switch covers, and anti-pinch protection for doors. The following criteria, among others, were important to us for our evaluation:
- Easy assembly
- Secure hold
- Good usability
- Child safety
- Appealing design
Of course, our evaluation criteria were much longer overall. Some products were quickly eliminated for us due to usability issues, and others because we were looking for solutions that we felt should be quite universally applicable. After all, every household with a baby and toddler presents its own unique challenges. All our favorites share the following characteristics:
- Applicable in almost all households:
- Socket protectors for standard sockets, for adhesive application with a rotating mechanism
- Child safety lock for common charging cables , e.g., USB-C, Lightning, and Micro-USB
- Anti-pinch protection for doors , which fits most common doors
- Window/door security device that prevents unwanted opening and can be individually mounted on most doors and windows – also without screws.
- An adhesive solution for drawers , cabinet doors, or even refrigerator and toilet lids, which prevents unwanted opening.
- Discreet corner protectors for e.g. tables, also for gluing.
- Subtle colors (not bright) so that the products do not draw our little ones' attention to the dangers.
- An appealing appearance – as far as one can expect for practical things like child safety locks 😊 – i.e., clear white or trendy black, combined with transparent products.
- Simple, intuitive assembly and use
- Good grip
- Not easy for children to open
- When assembled, there are no small parts that could be swallowed.
- Harmless materials
- Robust construction
- For adhesive bonds, we only use proven 3M adhesives.
