Unser Maskottchen: Eddi

Our mascot: Eddi

Our mascot is a lightbulb named EDDI.
But how did GADGETTO Products come to own this lightbulb?

The first step, considering the company's founding, was to find a suitable name. Since our intention was to offer useful gadgets for the home (with a baby and toddler), which originated from our first invention, we chose GADGETTO. We combined this with the word "Products" because it's a distribution company. Unlike its sister company REVONEER, GADGETTO Products was intended to be a bit more colorful, although we did adopt some elements like the light turquoise and the font. But it wasn't meant to be just a simple "text logo." And there you can already see Eddie, in the "O" of our logo.

EDDI – our little lightbulb. Eddi fits well with the lightbulb's history as a synonym for ideas and developments – because Eddi was meant to represent the connection to Edison. Edison developed his lightbulb in 1850, which finally became usable in 1878 and was patented by him. We'll leave the fact that there were other inventors of the lightbulb out of this discussion for now.

The suggestion "Eddi (Edison)" came up in connection with the Edison reference. So, we didn't actually choose the name ourselves; we let the community vote on it via social media.

Eddie, our mascot

Initially, the lightbulb was "just" part of our logo, then we discovered it as a design element for other marketing materials, but at first, everything was in 2D. It truly came to life after we came up with a name, when we decided to create it in 3D. And shortly thereafter, the perfect mascot was born, over 70 centimeters tall with a fluffy surface. We created a cutting pattern from the 3D model. And since EDDI is quite large at 70 cm, he consists of three elements that we connected with Velcro.
